Brilliant Idea or Simply Politics?
This morning Barak Obama (aka, someone on his technology team) posted a question on the Q&A section of Linked In. Is this a brilliant strategy or is it politics in a place where they don't belong?
Linked In, a social networking site for business, was frequented in its early days mainly by entreprenuers and small business owners looking to connect. Now, it's one of the most popular business social networking sites with more than 7 million profiles on the site.
The Q&A section of the site allows you to post questions to your network and get advice on any topic you wish--from how to market something to where to find a good resource. Barak's question (which I am guessing LinkedIn allowed him to post to the entire community) is:
How can the next president better help small business and entrepreneurs thrive?
The answers vary from smart to warm and fuzzy ("I love you Barak") to critical ("This isn't the forum for politics") to smart ass ("vote for Mitt Romney"). But even if it isn't the forum for politics (and I am not sure I agree), it is getting attention. I'm blogging about it, aren't I?
